Sliding windows are effortless to operate and their biggest advantage is that they require minimal opening space as they do not protrude outwards. They provide excellent ventilation and can be locked whilst open for security.
They have a watertight seal to prevent both draught and rain intrusion.

Double Hung Windows custom built in either Aluminium or Timber (KD Hardwood or Western Red Cedar)
Double Hung windows provide excellent ventilation as both top and bottom sashes can open simultaneously. The architectural symmetry of Double Hung windows enhances style that adds to any design. In keeping with tradition, optional period horns and Colonial, Federation and Heritage bars are available.
Different replacement styles include:
- Weights and cords where the moving sashes are counterbalanced by cast iron weights in concealed pockets in a 90mm box frame. By far the superior type allowing large windows to move with ease.
- Counter weights creating the old style look at a more affordable price. These windows slide up and down simultaneously in a 42mm frame.
- Jambliner system the most economical version with sashes moving independently and easily removed for painting and re-glazing.
- Sashless where both sections of glass slide up and down simultaneously.
Optional keyed security locks are available for all styles of our Double Hung windows.
